Some time ago I posted a problem with a new Uberti third model Dragoon that was shooting way high (normal) and way right (not normal) and was extremely hard to assemble and take down (also not normal).

My suspicion was the arbor was not perpendicular to the breech face and so I turned the gun over to a machinist friend of mine who had the equipment to check that. He discovered the problem was the two locating holes in the frame were drilled crooked and by spotting and filing the pins the whole assembly now slides into place slick as a mashed grape on a terrazzo floor.

He is doing some other things like cutting a spent cap relief on the breech face a cap groove to help in capping the gun and has dovetailed in a rear sight on the barrel.

It will be a hot looking shooter when it is finished and shot in. I am thinking a zero of about 25 yards would be about right. Any suggestions or comments will be welcome.
If I can figure out how to do it I will post a picture of the finished gun.

The rear dovetail sight will correct the windage problem but you will still need a taller front sight. Another option is to put in a dovetailed front sight that is taller. That is the most common mod I've seen on originals (Colt's revolvers) that I have examined.

That's great you fixed your Dragoon and are improving it. I have thought about dovetailing a simple period correct rear sight on my Dragoon. I'm wondering if the hammer sight will get in the way of using the dovetailed one?

I'll bet that the arbor is short on the Uberti. You will see a notable increase in accuracy from day to day after correction.

The most efficient way to re-sight the octagon barrel Colts is with a dovetail front sight. GABRIEL LAW did mine years ago. You still have the notch on the tip of the hammer as a back sight which gives about 4 inches of extra sight radius.  Very accurate!
