Many of you may have only seen the name referenced here in the Barracks related to uniforms, uniform parts or equipment.  Some of you may have uniforms created by them for you.  Leta and Buck of Coon Creek were inducted into the SASS Hall of Fame during a ceremony at the SASS Convention on December 4th 2015.  Below is the program for the event, a photo of them with me in one of their uniforms, and the write up in the Convention Book about them.  They are great folks that I consider Family.  Unfortunately they are now only working mail order from their house so I don't get to see them anymore at big events.  Their web site is www.cooncreekoldwest.com please consider them if you have needs related to uniforms or gear.

Buck and Leta are very excellent people, do really excellent custom work, and are a joy to deal with.  They are also really good friends...

Back in the early 90s, I was at a CW reenactment in Virginia, and met Buck and Leta on Sutlers Row.  What wonderful folks!

Among all the CW stuff there was a lonely 5 button M1874 artillery blouse, discounted.  I could not buy it fast enough!  Buck asked why I wanted the odd thing Leta had made on a whim, and I told him about SASS ("Whats that?") and my Military impression.  Gave him a card, some phone numbers and the SASS Wire address.  We talked about Indian war uniforms and kit, and I later contacted Leta to make my M1898 khaki uniform.

It wuz me!  I started it!  HA HA!

G W Strong now has that Blouse, treasure it well my friend!

Had the privilege to visit them last  a week ago Thursday to pick up a few items to replace those that had shrunk (my story and I am sticking to it as we all know scales lie).  Great folks quality work fast service.  Glad I live in AZ and can run down to Tucson to do business.
