I'm conversing & brainstorming a 2 gun 22 Caliber only gallery style match ..

Simple rules really

No gun carts,  no brass pick-up ....

*  Open to 1890's & later Pumps, Levers , maybe even Bolts as long as they are tube magazine fed

*  Revolvers SA or DA

No semi autos or box magazines  ( I:E: 10/22's )

Open class ( shootist )   Target sights , adjustable sights

Traditional class  (Duelist)   adjustable sights

some ideas kicking around

First time out of the box ,  it might be 1 open stage of a Monthly posse match.

any interest ?  or input ?

At our Phoenix irregular Guard range, they have an independent club that shoots the next day.
They have a double deuce class that I've shot in, I use two single sixes and a 1890 or a
Henry goldenboy. It works good for me after camping and shooting and driving, I don't
have to clean guns.

Thanks for the replies, Fun is written all over it.... I was beginning to think 22's were unmentionable  :-\

With the popularity of arcades , sideshow attractions in the Victorian age it is natural progression.
Even saloons had Flolbert gun and indoor shooting parlors, most every carnival or fair had a gallery barker.

I'm open to ideas,  with the idea of simple , fun matches

When you mention "fun match", the Angel's Chicken Ranch side match put on by our Texas friends at the Nationals a few years ago comes to mind! (even though I won the damn thing, and had to wear a chicken hat!)
It is far better to remain silent, and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt!

Anything with 22s sounds like fun to me.

Would be fun to try anything even close to a shooting gallery array of .22 targets.
"Riverview Park" in Des Moines, IA had a cool shooting gallery  ;D

I may be the last generation to experience real guns/ammunition in a shooting gallery (not electronic arcade or computer). Dad would splurge a few dollars to let me show-off what he'd taught me to do with a rifle.

Years go I borrowed Dad's old 06' Winchester (I used as a youth) and gave it to Vaughn for a reline. When I gave it back to dad, he turned around and gave the rifle to me. I used it for some of the .22 side matches at Prairie Fire range. Used to shoot that thing nearly like a "pro"...guess I'd had a lot of practice with it. Likely not so hot today as the sights are fairly "fine" for my eyes  :o

Slim, I shot at Riverview Park until it closed.  If you still live in the area, I do have an outdoor "gallery".

Montana Slim

Not too far away. But likely not close enough to be real convenient....Sent ya a PM.

Roger, maybe Slim can talk to the mayor Davenport and get permission
for you to set up your .22 gallery in the parking lot of the Hotel Davenport
