I have a Winchester Model 1892 made in 1892 . It was a 38-40 bored out to 44-40. i would like to shoot it with black powder
and would like to know of a bullet manufacturer who lube with an appropriate one like SPG. Any suggestions? I understand that the
early 92's were really designed for black powder loads and would like to respect that.

Buffalo Arms has a selection of soft lead bullets with SPG lube.  I've purchased these from them 45/70 and 38/55.  For my 45 LC/Schofield, 44/40 and 38's, I purchase unsized and unlubed bullets from Missouri Bullet.  These bullets are a bit harder than the Buffalo Arms bullets, but cheaper, and work fine in my Winchester '73 in 44/40 and all my revolvers in the other calibers.  I pan lube the bullets from Missouri with a homeaid BP lube (beeswax, crisco, canola oil), and size them as need with Lee sizing dies that fit into my single stage press.  I've had good experience with the bullets from Buffalo Arms in my rifle calibers...they ain't cheap though!

Pile on!!  Pile on!!  Pile on!!

Plus one for Springfield Slim.  Have ordered bullets from him several times.  Bullets are shipped well packaged to avoid damage and are
lubed with a great BP lube.
Since your going to load for a rifle, I would recommend one of the "Big Lube" bullets, with the HUGE LUBE groove.  His big lube bullets
carry enough lube to grease the ways to launch a Battle Ship (not really, but close).  You won't go wrong.

I'll try him for my next order.  Pan lubing takes a while!  If only he had a 45/70 casting!!

I'll have to see if I can sell him a 45-70 500grain Big Lube®LLC mold.  Slim should have this bullet in his stable.

Plus 2 for Springfield Slim.  He is so into BP that he even shoots his model 1911 with BP loads.

Doesn't everyone shoot their 1911 with BP?  :o ;D

Another +1 for Springfield Slim, great product.  Just be aware that during peak shooting season it can take as long as 6 weeks to get your bullets - just plan ahead for it.

Troy, you might ask him about 45-70 bullets.  He does cast some that don't show up on his website.  I bought some for my 32 WCF.

Best bullets with a championship quality blackpowder lube. Made by a shooter for shooters.

How about a 405 grainer?  I think the 500 would be too much punishment on the shoulder in my carbine!
