Family rumor is that consumption of alcohol was not acceptable behavior from the Plymouth colonists  ;)

You can find the wills of many folks who came on the Mayflower online. You will find an extremely detailed list of their possessions. Don't think you'll find equipment suitable for brewing or distilling beverages...ut might interest someone to detail research that aspect.

The low alcohol beers of the time were not considered alcoholic beverages at the time like wine and distilled spirits.   They may have discovered fairly early on the water, unlike the cities of Europe was safe to drink.

For the stuff they made a few barrels and a cloth to strain it was all that was needed.
