Hey Al,  save two more seats at the Mexican Restaurant! Quickfire and I are planning on heading your way on Friday. Shoot the cowboy shoot on Saturday, and GAF on Sunday! A couple quick target questions. What distances are the targets engaged at, and do I need to bring my "knockem down to killem" 45-60, or will a pistol caliber lever gun suffice? (.44 or .45 cal. of course!) Also please order some cooler weather for that weekend. Pretty unpleasant outside in Nebrasky today!

Bummer! That's the weekend before the county fair. I won't be able to make it.  :(

S.C.S., Kind Sir,
Have I missed a decade already? Which of your wunnerful Girl Kinders are showing and what? 4-H Dairy? Chickens? Rarebits? Hosses? Their Brother? I'll bet he's almost taller than you by now, HAH! I'll have to dig out my pic of him playing with my hat at an old NCOWS Convention. Oh my! That was a million years ago it seems like, I think!
Best regards and Good Luck!

Ira, glad to have ya. Any calibre will work, this is a cowboy range-30yds. max. What time Fri. are you arriving? I'll be over after work to set my camp, about 4-430. See ya then, Al.

To All, long range weather forecast is -- highs around 80 chance of rain on fri. and sun. Final round count is 44 rifle and 17 pistol. Some targets are must hit and some are one and done, plan accordingly. See ya this weekend, Al.

I was looking at last years Muster pictures and thought I recognized an eastern Iowa ruffian that goes by the name of Beartooth Billy. Any chance he'll make an appearance this year?

I'd say 50/50. He's a member of our club and two day shoots make it worth his drive, Al.

I had a great time in Good Company!  That was about as good a skirmish type match you could run on a "Cowboy" style range, and the precision segment was well thought out for the limitations of the range.  I reccomend a Star of Merit for Shalako Al for his dedication and planning in the Hosting of this match.

(BTW, I left a folding chair behind!)

I would like to second Colonel Drydock's recommendation! Quickfire and I made the trip to Colfax from Nebrasky (Cornville?), and it was well worth the drive. Lots of imagination put into the match so that it didn't feel like a cowboy match, even though it was on a cowboy range. (we also shot the NCOWS match on Saturday) Nice to see some familiar faces, and meet some new people. Many thanks to all involved!
