On June 28th 2015 GAF member Steve Summers aka Stu Kettle (GAF number 768) was laid to rest at our encampment near Sargent in north east Custer County Nebraska as per his wishes.

The ceremony was attended by his widow Laurie, his parents, his children, grandchildren and a nephew.

The old flag which has flown over our encampment since 2010 was lowered and folded with all due respect and a new flag was raised to half staff.

(The old flag flying over Steve's tent at a past muster.)

A lunch was prepared by the Commissary Department consisting of one of Steve's favorite camp meals, (meat loaf, baked macaroni and cheese, bread and cobbler)   Steve's family and the GAF members and guests partook of the meal.

After the lunch, we gathered near the flag pole and General Davenport and Lt Colonel Little preformed the memorial.

After the ceremony Steve's ashes were spread over camp by 4 coehorn mortars.

And our old flag was presented to Laurie.

A picture of his well known profile picture was left in the headquarters.

Del,  I could not get the pics. Is there some other method to present them so us old guys (by that I mean Bob.) can get them?

I'm sad to hear of this. I'm sure you paid the proper respects.
