I have been looking around and can not seem to find the info. I need. I have a ASM 1860 army and I do not know much about it. I am the original owner but I have had it so long I can not remember. Barrel  asm made in Italy. serial number has a "D" next to it and has five numbers, 11XXX. eleven thousand something. Never been fired.
What have I got and what might it be worth?

You are a proud owner of an Italian Reproduction of an 1860 Colt Percussion Revolver.  It was manufactured by Armi San Marco (now defunct) who manufactured some fine guns.  About one in 10 or eleven, was a fine gun.  The rest were ........ crap.  Very poor to nonexistent quality control coupled with some poor materials.  The ASM guns looked real good and were very close in specification to an actual Colt.  There, the similarity ended.
Value, potential price .. basically a crap shoot.  Will actually depend on "if" someone actually wants it.  Not too many folks are interested in
the surviving ASM guns.
I'd suggest taking a peek on sale sites like Gunbroker ad see what folks are asking.  That is not necessarily what they are getting.  Good
Luck

Iam sure Coffenmaker is right on the quailty of the ASMs as he has helped me before about parts. The question I have is I have been looking for a long time for a 1860 Type I in 44 Colt, and for a gun everybody says is junk, but nobody wants to sell their junk, if they have one, where are they all at? One person wrote and said they were in the city dumps with other junk, and if anyone can afford to junk a gun like that and not try to repair it please let me know as I will take your junk off your hands. There must be other people like myself that like them and want them but can't find them, except once in a great while on the enternet.
Still looking.

;D  I love my ASM 60 . Yeah i had to replace the hammer and trigger and hand, After that an fixing the arbor length is is a shooter. I have another reason for lovin it as my stepfather gave it to me the Christmas afore he passed away.
I consider all the cap and balls made today as more or less kits. They are all going to need a little somethin here and there.
A good source for parts is Deer Creek Products.
