Hi, Does any one know if the 50-56 "armi Sport ammo" that "Buffalo arms sells work well in a Regular "vintage" 56-50 Spencer Carbine(relined by Springfield in 1865)?
Ten x sells  commercial ammo but it is a little more expensive.
I wonder if both brands are loaded in "3 Star" cases?
Do any members have experience with these questions they would like to share? Thanks, John

John,

Look over the SORI Thread on SSS.  Lots of great information there regarding loading for the Spencer.

You first need to slug your bore.  I believe the commercial stuff uses s .512 diameter round and starline Brass.  My new model slugged to .515.  Another issue with the commercial brass will be overall length.  My best overall length is 1.6".  Ten-x is too short for me.
