here's a case I made for my 1860 Henry.
9 oz Veg tanned leather  with Sheep shearling lining.
Hand tooled, Mexican round braided lace, lace is Kangaroo leather

Can you say more about how you selected your materials. For instance, how did you decide that the
kangaroo leather was what you wanted to use for your laces? Any info would be appreciated.

I use the Kangaroo lace cause it is very strong, much stronger than cowhide lace.
I make motorcycle seats and use kangaroo lace for it's strength.
I paid a good price for the Henry and decided it needed a case worthy, heavy leather and strong lace for max protection, it'll last a lifetime or two.
