Colt Fanning

Hi,
I have found what looks to be a model 1892 thru 1903 colt army with correct colt lettering and a serial # indicating a date of
1895.  It also has a W enclosed by a star stamped on the barrel, trigger guard and cylinder lock.  Another serial # indicating a date of 1903 had been stamped on the butt.  Is this a factory rebuild?

CF:
The SN and 1903 date on the butt is the military marking of a Model 1903.  Somewhere on the pistol should be RAC which are the inspectors initials.  The star mark on a Single Action usually indicates a factory refinish.  Bring it to the range next time you come and maybe we can figure it out.

Clear photos would help greatly.

Take them in good, natural light, and include all markings.

If you shoot it - use .38 Long Colt.
