Played with the SAA some and shot them a lot.  Still have some of my earliest family's guns which started me down the road at an young age.  Liked the guns long before I could shoot them.  To the men in my family they were generally just tools, like a good pair of spurs, a saddle or a decent truck.   As I grew up it dawned on me,  on occasion there was an exception to the "tool rule" to a some of us.

I suspect this gun to be an exception.

It is a Colt 3rd gen BP frame with the old roll markings and the circle pony trade mark.  Gun is still the white as shipped from Colt.  The hammer profile, fit and fame to hammer profile tells me a lot.  It is an exceptional Colt already in my mind.   Carved one piece ivory and a nickel finish eventually.

Off to the engraver shortly.

Hi Frank.  Glad you're interested in the results.

The pair have names already,  "Justice" and "Liberty".   Obvious where the names come from.   3nd time I have made up this pair.  The originals were plain blue/case, first pair were 7.5" Armi San Marco .45.  I eventually moved the ivory over to 4 3/4" 3rd gen 44 Special 44/40 Colt 3rd gen conversions.  Same Eagle carved ivory was able to be fitted between them.  Had to break them up and sell them off in pieces during hard times.

Not unlikely that might happen again  :o

But till then should be fun!  Starting over with a clean slate this time around.  Never marked a pair of guns as "mine".  Be no doubt who owned these originally when they are done.

That might take some hunting around but Colt lists them as a stock SAA option.

Slight disagreement on the ivory so they are coming back smooth not carved.   Certainly not a deal breaker although the guns will always feel unfinished to me.  I should see the guns in person next week.

Couple of weeks later than originally quoted.

Photos to follow asap when they do show up.

Had these guns made up specifically to honor my Great Grandfather Levi and Grandfather William.  I owe much to both.
