elk and the 45-60

My brother and I are considering elk hunting next year. Im considering using my 1876, if I keep shots under 200 with my 350 gr hard casts, is the 45-60 up to the task. Im very comfortable with the rifle up to 200 yards, just trying to get opinions, thanks all.

A friend of mine is planning on using his Chappy 45-60 for elk.  He has hunted a bunch.
