howdy yall,
I been working on a new belt and holster for my colt 1860 army Richards type 1 conversion.
I wanted something a little different to go with such a unique revolver. after staring into packing iron for hours on end, I settled on  this.
the belt was inspired from the cartridge belt on  page 93. the thimbles are riveted on the belt.  something that proved a little tricky. as of now I have not cut the excess off the rivets. I kind of like the way they look not cut off.
the holster is loosely based off the john Wesley hardin holster on page 203, with out the attached bullet loops.
I wetted the holster and belt and bent and twisted them around several time to give them that broke in look.
I coated the leather in olive oil and several coat of tan-kote.
a friend of mine built me a burnisher that goes on my drill and im still getting the hang of using it. I  may re-burnish with my old deer antler later.
