Norinco 97 dis-assembled....

  I took the magazine tube and forend off my Norinco to do some repair to the wood and guess what. Yep, won't go back together. I re-installed the mag tube/forend back to the receiver and it will not cycle. Must have removed it with it cocked. The hammer is wayyy back and so it the trigger. Any ideas what I did wrong and what I can do to remedy the situation? Hate to take it to the smith if it's something simple and stupid. Let me know if any of you have run into this and what you did.
