Just had an opportunity to purchase two used Uberti 1860 Armies from a friend. One was almost new. The other an older one that was marked on the barrel: UBERTI USA, LAKEVILLE, CT MADE IN ITALY BY A. UBERTI. The older one needs some work and I just ordered parts so can't shoot them yet. Figured I would just clean them up in the meantime. Everything looks good on the newer one . Started cleaning the barrel on the older model and guess what? Inside the barrel, right above where the machine work went into creeping loading lever is a slight bulge like I mentioned a few threads ago. In this case, they look like two parallel longitude marks across the bottom land. These are definetly raised marks and not some barrel cleaning mistake. But they are in exactly the same place as all the other ones I mentioned. You can very easily see these when holding the barrel up to an overhead light with the breech end closest to your eye. I couldn't believe my luck as when I posted the last thread this deal for the 1860 Armies hadn't come up. Too good a deal, though as they came with four almost new cylinders to boot. Anyway, am I the unluckiest 1860 Army buyer to be finding this issue? I'll bet it still shoots fine and am not going to worry about it.  Regards,   Navy Six

Six,
Don't buy a lotto ticket.  Don't walk under any ladders, don't pas up a urinal  ::)

I'm with ya.  I'd certainly shoot it as is.  Playin CAS at 7 to 12 yards, it should group just fine.  You might also want to lurk around ebay for Uberti Colt 1860 parts.  Hold out for "new take off" parts.  Over on the Pietta side, there are several 1860 barrels on offer.  I shoot Pietta so I hang out there a lot  ;D
