Does anyone here know of a non-USA market replacement hammer for the Cimarron-Uberti 1871-2 open top revolver?

I know that many folks simply remove the safety or locktite it in place - I'd like to know if there's a part available that just doesn't have the safety.

Thanks

Yes

Don't remove it.  The hammer looks real dorky with a big hole in it.  You can also cut a more pronounced recess in the back go the little dohicky (tech term) to keep it from pivoting.  Simplest method though, is a copious amount of Red LocTite.

I'm surprised the 71-72 isn't offered in Europe.
If it is offered in Europe, I'm even more surprised that the EU model has the dummy part.

OK
Thanks guys.

Have it welded-up and refinished.  You'll never know it was there.

I am a machinist/welder/toolmaker, could tig and finish and case harden it here, but a phone call or email to the parts house would have been so much easier!

Dixie Gun Works may have a hammer fer an original.

I have also heard that getting an oem hardened firing pin is a good idea too.
