Does anyone know where I could get a 5" ejector rod to replace the 4" that is in the gun, Iam working on for a friend.  Called Cimarron, and VTI and all they have is the 4". I have 3 type 2 conversions from Cimarron that have the correct 5" rods that came on the guns. I have seen the shorter ones on some adds for the guns. I have a ASM that has a short rod and will not eject 38 spl. cases all the way, but will eject 38 Long Colt okay which is alright as that is all I shot in it.
thanks

Just to make sure we are on the same page I have a pair of these:

When I first got them they had the short ejector rods.  A couple of weeks after I got them Cimmarron mailed me the proper 5" rods.  The old rods simply unscrewed from the ejector rod heads and I screwed in the new ones.

As far as I know, Cimarron and VTI are the only sources of parts for the Type II ejector rods.  I actually have 2, but they come with the guns attached  :o and might be a bit expensive purchased thus.

Reno, I'm not sure who you talked to at Cimarron.  There is a new guy there.  The proper long rods are on the shelf.  I don't know how many inches long they are, but they are the long ones for the Type II.  They are not in a marked bin, so he may not have known about them.  The original Type II Colt that was sent to Italy to be copied had the short rod and that's why the first Ubertis Cimarron received had the short rod.  They asked Uberti to change to the longer rod which they did and Uberti sent a big bag of the rods to Cimarron (not with the ejector head, just the rod).  They will send you one to replace your short one, although first you have to find someone who knows where they are on the shelf.  I probably won't be back up there for a few months or I'd do it myself.  Good luck.

Thanks again, men. At Cimarron, I talked to Chip who is the one  I always get when I call. He said there were none in the bin.
Thanks again,
