Howdy.
A friend of mine got a holster from his grandpa that he bought when he prospected for gold in Alaska, he is interested about the holster history. Is it handmade or factory made?

It definitely looks commercial to me.  From the photos the pattern appears to be embossed rather than carved and hand stamped.  Just my opinion of what I think I can see???  Seems like any small shop would have done the decorative stuff by hand rather than big presses and a holster that size would need a lot of pressure to set in a die pattern that size.

I'd say commercial, from a lower-priced maker similar to Hunter.

Likely an intended part of a drop-loop Buscadero belt, but sold separately, because they were marketed like that, so the purchaser could find the correct size for his waist.
