I have been wearing suspenders for several years now in preference to a belt. Real leather suspenders are difficult to find for a man of my 6 foot 5 inch and 295 pound frame, and are really expensive to boot. I also want to attach a holster I make myself for a beautiful Bond derringer I carry at times (legal where I am).
I'd considered buying two leather work belts from a building supply to get the two, 2 inch wide strips to begin with, but all I find are kind of cheaply embossed. Understandable given their purpose.
Searching the net gives mixed results finding a kit with patterns and hardware. I prefer a heavily built 2 inch wide strap style because of my size and wish to support a holster.
Can anyone point me in a direction please? Thanks as always. Don

If the meat of the question comes down to where you can find two belt blanks, Tandy will have them, and they go on sale all the time.

What you want though is a raw blank without hardware, etc...  I would guess, so on sale, and all cheaper.  You can select better stock if you can make it to a store.

I'm only 73"+.  In the presence of a guy who is 77 inches, I feel like I a dwarf.  That said, it is only a five percent difference on height, and 17% on weight.  Devastating in the octagon, but as far as gear is concerned, not that big a platform difference.

A rig like this for carrying big pistols in Alaska is not suspended by two full 2 inch belts.

There are plans over on leatherworker.net for suspenders.

You may find that getting elastic is a bigger deal.  I know a few places that sell it, but I have not ordered from them, so I have no idea how rugged the stuff is.

Just buy the suspenders/holster already made by 'COWS' - they're specifically made for a carrying a derringer - but probably not for the over-sized Bond.

They're decoratively 'tooled' (machine-stamped), as well, and 'The Fort', in Lincoln, Nebraska used to sell them.
