I'm trying to get all those pesky ducks in a row, before I buy my first Uberti Schofields and there don't seem to be many holsters available.  Would anyone like to recommend a holster or maker?  Thanks!

So what else is on your mind besides hundred-proof women, 'n' ninety-proof whiskey, 'n' fourteen-carat gold?

I have a Uberti Cattleman (5.5") and I really like my Triple K rig (# 114 Cheyene). The price is right $45.00 for the holster and about $85.00 for the belt (Cabellas).

I can strongly recommend:

El Paso Saddlery - www.epsaddlery.com

Wild Rose Trading Company - www.wrtcleather.com

Of course - there are other makers who can either produce something - or may already have a suitable one for you.

I happen to really like these.

I currently carry my S&W Schofield  in a Cheyenne-style from El Paso Saddlery and Wild Rose Trading Company is currently making one as we speak.

For more ideas - look at a copy of 'Packing Iron'.

Howdy,

I have the Slim Jim model for my 7" S&W Schofield (PC 2000) from Old West Reproductions. Check out Rick Bachman's web site at http://www.oldwestreproductions.com.

Howdy Pards.

I made all my own holsters for my Schofields and Russians.  Holsters for the Remingtons will usually fit them.  Some of the more amorphous holsters for Rugers and Colts will fit.  Most of the bigger makers will have a pattern for them, but probably won't have any in stock.

Since you will probably have wait for it to be made, you might as well check with some of the smaller one man shops first.  You can usualy talk to the owner when you place the order and get a good idea of when they will be done.  The added bonus is that the rig will be made the way YOU want it not the way WE make it.

I think that Slim Jims are just the pure quill for long barreled Schofields and Russians.  You may like Mexican Loop holsters, some like Texas Jockstrap holsters.  Look through Packing Iron and find a style you like and get a rig made.
