Anyone know where I can get the spring steel to make a coiuple of spare hand springs?  At the same time I have a WWII pistol with a broken magazine latch spring and if I can get the spring steel I can just bend one up and harden it from there.

Overall hand length.  When the bolt withdraws from the cylinder as cocking starts, if there are round in the gun, the weight causes reverse rotation of the cylinder by maybe an eithth of an inch.  Now I know if I draw the hand overall length I could reduce this to almost nothing, but I have not determined what else I may disturb in the process.  Assuming I do not change the secondary notch hand length the timing should not be affected.  And even if I do, I can adjust that easily.  More than anything I do not like seeing the "backwards" movement of the cylinder.  It has no noticeable affect of the gun that I have noticed other than I just do not like seeing that.  I was also thinking of making my own hand that would be longer and starting from there.  Noting a broken hand and hand springs postings, it might be a good idea to have a prefit spare.

CW,
I get my stock spring steel from Brownell's. You need to know what length and thickness of the spring, and whether or not you want Oil or Water hardening?, but they will have it.
