My local gun shop received a large bag of copper, rimfire cartridges from an estate sale.

They are in excellent condition but we can't figure out what they are.

Most of them are copper cases but a few look to be brass cases. The copper cases are headstamped "H" and the brass cases are headstamped  "U"

That should be it, close is often what you get on those.  The H's are Winchester and the U is Remington.

Reminds me I purchased a full box of very clean .32 RF at an antique mall a few years ago for $6.00.
The copper-cased Winchesters are likely loaded with black powder.

Just curious, are those in the picture considered "excellent"?

I have no idea how to grade the condition.

Anyone have any idea what they think they are worth?

Not a lot unless they are in the original box, that was a common round.

They'd be worth someone who has an old .32RF  they want to shoot.  If they were .38s I'd be interested.

Not worth the effort of chambering them.

They're best suited as a display item with the revolver.
