Best of success on your hunt . . . for the curious, what are you taking for Spencer related gear . . .  or what are you packing for the hunt?

I don't know about other states, but here in MT one is only supposed to have 3 rounds in the magazine.  Tough to reload our favorite rifle while tracking.  I've only gotten one deer w/ my carbine, but it took two rounds, and the second was to put the critter out of his misery (first was a low lung shot)
Good Luck on the hunt ;D

Well I had a doe come out at 100 yards.  Not in my comfort zone with the original sharps/spencer sights.  Had another on come out at 50 yards and ........................missed >:(. No more hunting until I perfect my load and get proper sights.  Does anyone make a blade front sight that secures over an original front sight?

Sorry about the miss... You probably already know this trick, but just in case...  I take some really loud fingernail polish and put a dab on the front sight.  After the hunt a little acetone takes it right off.  That little bit of bright helps me pick up the front in limited visibility.
