I just now looked at that Henry.  The "aging" is laughable!  (All they did was screw up a nice reproduction!)  I find it hard to believe anyone would spend that sort of money if they're that clueless about what they're looking at, but they are born every minute!

It's funny how some think that the buyer could be to blame here...........I'm not speaking about anyone here but people in general as i have this posted on several forums.
The thought that anyone is in the wrong here but the seller is the "tolerance" that the Social leftists have been propagating as "correct" and the root of their dominance in the political arena i.e; it's not a crime unless I get caught!

I sent a well worded, concise email to the criminal division of the Louisiana Attorney General (sellers state of residence). In two days an investigator contacted me via the telephone and asked me to help educate him. He is now going to his cyber division and contacting the ATF.

I suggest some of you do the same.

Not that it has anything to do with this...just I think it's poetic justice.

Obama will probably pardon it though....

The investigator just called me again asking me for a written OPINION of what is wrong with the descriptions and what is wrong with both the BP pistols and the Henry rifles.

If you or anyone else would like to step up and write an email regarding what is what here (staying away from words like fake) please get in touch with me via email.

HH,

For me, there are two telling factors that come into play here.
1. is the cartridge lifter length in the frame. .44 Henry will be quite a bit shorter than the .44 WCF
2. will be if it is in center fire or rim fire bolt. I know of no Winchester center fire alterations on their Henry. (there maybe some gunsmith alterations, however)

A third possibility would be in the thread pitch of the screws.(No Henry will have metric screw threads)

And a fourth "could be" in some that were made in 44 Henry RF very early in the production. Most of these that I have seen have been listed or marked as either Carbines and/or Trapper Models due to their shorter than standard barrel lengths.

This is all tough stuff to get off of an Actions site. But if the "seller" is not willing to supply such info... then they should consider removing the item from the action. Or consider re-writing their information sheet.
I hope this may help.
My best,
Blair

Just like Ebay, they make their money from the sellers so they have little incentive to do anything about it.
Well, ebay screwed me and I was the seller. Equal opportunity flakes.

Just for the record, I think people who try to pass this stuff off are scum, but if you're a "collector" of antiques of any kind, PLEASE educate yourself before you buy!  (Or find someone trustworthy, with knowledge, that can advise you.)  I once sold a mint condition M-1 stock pouch to a "collector" who sent me a nasty e-mail because what I sold him was "obviously" a .45 pouch.  It was stamped "Boyt 45" on the back.  While people who misrepresent what they're selling are reprehensible, don't make it easy for them.  The same personality who buys that thing as an authentic Henry will send some guy in Africa $10,000 so he can fly here and give him $100,000 for doing him a favor.  Don't be a victim!

Coal Creek Griff

Apparently nobody bit on it this time.  If only the price was $40,000, I might have been interested  ::).
