St Barbara medallions are not available through the Canadian RCA kit shop.  The one PUK showed is an American artillery item.

When I was a guest in an Artillery mess in CFB Shiloh, (I was Signals) I saw an amusing poster.

It showed a brutal melee going on, a real cartoon-type dust up. On the fringe with tea cup in hand, pinky poised,  was an effete looking Artillery Officer in 1700's uniform about to touch off a muzzle loading cannon into the mix.

The caption read:

"Artillery lends dignity to what would otherwise be a very undignified brawl.",   or words to that effect.

God bless the Gunners, the "Fifteen Mile Snipers"!

Are you guys familiar with Kipling's ode to the Artillery, entitled "Ubique"?

Like all his works dedicated to the common soldier, it honours the hardships and sacrifices they make in serving the guns.
