I now have finished a .45 caliber companion to the .357 1890. Grips reshaped and oil finished, Hammer also shaped and interior smoothed with new springs. Odd wood. Plain as a pallet. Getting the hammer checkered as it's too smooth now.

I was told recently that I'm "livelier than a one-legged man at a butt-kicking contest."    Is that an insult or a compliment?

I wasn't in the market but it showed up for $395 and no bidders so I was helpless. Supposedly new, some screws had been slightly buggered coming out. Also the hand spring was broken. Dealer swore it was new and no one had been inside.Trouble is the broken spring was missing so someone was full of it. I had a spare and fixed the gun. Times well, spring lightened. Good bolt spring, grips stripped and oil finished. Smoothed this and that. The hammer will soom make a trip to someone who will checker it after reshaping.
I do like these guns. Something a little different from a Colt.
