Some other IMR too, like 3031 (I use in 45-70).

For cartridges you might want to try a jar of their Aliant Black MZ.
It is not funky like Black MAG, nor in any way similar to it..
.. so don't mistake it for Black MAG.
Black MZ is instead like APP, only not as weak.
I have found it will even work in muzzleloading flintlocks better than Pyrodex.
It is our newest BP substitute, worth a try for cartridges (I have not done that yet).

Back in the day when I used to participate in Police Comp shooting, I loaded alot of 38 Spec using PB. Never had any problems with it. I've loaded 45Colt at times with it also, just to get away from my normal 45 Colt loadings. A good powder that seems to never get its due.

I have burned up thousands of rounds of 28 ga with 5/8 oz shot loaded with PB in my day, most loaded in the early 80's with Lee hand dies.  Makes nice 1 oz 12 ga and light plinkers for 32 mag.   To old to be the cool guy on the block I guess.
