What's fer supper!  :P

Until then, this hat has a big ole brim!! 6x beaver and i just ironed down the brim, where to go from there??This is that one with the interesting silk inside the crown,Stetson :)

Brushed it well, pretty clean when it got here, misted brim top and bottom with spray bottle, wet a cut piece of t-shirt wrung it out well, put between iron and brim and ironed carefully all around, this might call for a pencil roll?  :)

GCR, I cleaned an old hat the other day and started to form it back as it was. Noticed some Super Sheen next to me and I sprayed a little at the places I wanted to stay fixed. Worked great. I generally use liquid starch (powder you mix with water).

I will have to try that, that hat stiffner is gettin way to pricey!Only have one place here in town i can get it,14.00 a small bottle!

One thing i find weird is this a 6x beaver and feels like cradboard,i have run into a couple like that,i have a 10x (i swear it was John Waynes) and it is very soft but easy to shape.I would have thought just being beaver alone they all would be soft.
Thanks for the idea :) Got this one down to a Wild Bill Hickock sorta style :)

Natural shellac, never use anything else, go to the hardware store and get it, cut it with denatured alcohol. I get very discussed with a starched or hairsprayed hat when they come in.  But my cuzzin Bubba said it was a good idea.   ::)

Missed this, I'd keep the brim flat but I like a flat brim.

Interesting choice of bash.  When I saw the brim size, the first thing I thought of was Everett Hitch's hat in Appaloosa.  Not too many hats are wide brimmed enough for that.  But that's sort of what you went and did.  I like it.  I bet the brim is wide enough you could put more of a pencil roll in it and make it even more of a plantation style hat - if that's what you wanted.  Not that there's anything wrong with a "Wild Bill" hat...
