Does anyone happen to have a pattern for a belt holster to fit a Walker?
I need a vintage type holster.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

There are belt holster patterns for a Walker Colt.
They, the Colt Walker are not, however, considered "belt" pistols because of their size.
Just a thought.

Despite the diminutive Gus MacRae's fondness for carrying his in a crossdraw rig on the streets of 'Lonesome Dove' and the like - the Walker Colt was designed as a 'horse pistol' and not as a 'belt pistol' - and that was a difference in the Colt advertising of the period.

A 'horse pistol' generally used pommel holsters, and was carried as a brace of two.

Pretty much any scaled-up crossdraw pattern will work.

SHotgun, since it does not sound like you are going to carry your walker on your horse and specificaly requested a belt holster for a walker I will address that desire. Tandy has a pattern pack that has holsters for the walker it is downloadable from there library for $9.99 if you save it to a thumb drive you can take into staples, kinkos etc and have the full size patterns printed. https://www.leathercraftlibrary.com/p-1235-2691-percussion-pistol-pattern-pak.aspx   Here is a thread slow hand Bob posted a pattern for a walker looks like it should be printable. http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,33243.0.html

Hope this helps. I will look in my files I think I have a couple that will work for a Walker and a couple that could be enlarged to accomodate a Walker. Do you have any particular style in mind.

Camano Ridge, the pattern is actually fora good friend of mine. I will send him this info. Thanks for a response to what I asked.

A 4lb Dragoon carries quite nicely on the hip. The fact that the were "designed for" pommel holster use 160yrs ago shouldn't stop anyone who wants to from carrying one on their belt. I had a poll ru nning on my site asking what blackpowder sixgun to add to the roster (basic Colt and Remingtons covered) and the Walker was #2 behind the Ruger Old Army. UPS should be bringing my new Walker tomorrow.

;D Yep with a proper holster and belt the Walker  can be carried comfortably. I know cause i do it myself. The belt has to be sturdy and the holster worn a little higher in crossdraw or strong side but it can be done. And ya look cool doin it. lol    :D
Aye its been quite a ride aint it?

Massive

There be Redhawks out there today that weigh 58 ounces.

My partner is deciding which pattern to use and getting the stuff together to make something, he is not a man noted for being in a hurry. When he does finish a holster I'll try to get a photo to post here. Thank you all.

Here's the pattern I did for them. It needs a little tweaking at the bottom of the frame, as its a tad tight, but still very usable.
The 1st pic is all finished up, but the 2nd pic is before oil and edges were done. Shows details a bit better.
