Questions about Rossi 454 Casull

I recently picked up a Rossi 454 M92 new. Now I also ordered a metal magazine follower and stainless magazine spring to swap out for the stock parts. Now here is the problem, the Rossi 480 and 454 uses an inner magazine tube that contains the spring and follower. These normally have the screw cap locked on with a single pin setup however as you can see by the two views of mine it is double pinned. Anyone have an idea how this would work to remove it?

To the problem, besides the screw through the mag tube plug, the screws through the barrel bands also help hold the mag tube in place. There's a few things you can do. One is to drill & tap the mag plug to a slightly larger screw about a #8 then deepen and enlarge the detent hole there on the bottom of the barrel using a 1/8" end mill so the bottom of the hole is flat. Then make a screw to fit.
The next fix to go with that new screw is to also take the mag tube out and turn it around. This will give you fresh surfaces for the band screws. You will need to re-drill the plug screw holes and add new notches for the band screws.

The best setup would be to do it like Browning/Miroku did on some of those 92's. Hard solder a square block to the tube just in front of the receiver. Then mill a corresponding notch in the barrel. Install the tube with the block 90 degree out then turn it into the notch to lock the tube in place. You will need to notch the inside of the forend wood to install it over this block.
