Well, cabelas has the 1860 army on sale with the starter kit for 199.00.  I ordered one today! Now I have the 51 fantasy confederate, 58' new army remington and the 60 on the way. Once I have it I will decide whether or not to convert it or the remington.

Congrats, try it with BP first, you might like it.  I have had hit and miss quality with Pietta, but when there rite, there rite.  One of my most accurate revolvers is a 51 navy by them.

I'll deffinately burn BP with it for awhile. I can't afford the conversion now. I figure that is something down the road eventually. I really like the look of the 51 and will get one someday in the .36 cal. Right now all of mine are the 44 . I've never held the 60 before so I'm excited to see how it fits my hand. I love my 58 remington but my confederate 51 feels better in my hand. I hoping the 60 will give me the best of both worlds.

I got it on Wednesday. I have to say it is gorgeous. The wood grip is very nice grain. The case hardening on the frame is very deep and even throughout. No empty spot without coloring. The fit is pretty good. The wood stands just a teeny tiny bit proud on the front of the grip by the trigger guard. That is tolerable . I have not shot it yet but will soon.

Such a good deal, I ordered a pair!!!  Mine came off the same jig yours did, my grips are the same!!!  Congrats on yours!!!

I wish I would have bought a pair myself.  I had never held the 1860 so I wanted to make sure I liked it. No I need to decide if I want another 60 or a remington to make a pair.
