A chance to meet more than one blacksmith, we all need a blacksmith for our hard to find gear.


SUMMERFIELD, KS. 2013
SECOND ANNUAL
BLACKSMITHS AND PIONEERS DAYS
SATURDAY AUG.17 9 AM - 5 PM
SUNDAY AUG.18 9 AM - 3 PM
SUNDAY MORNING ALL DENOMINATION OLD TIME CHURCH SERVICE AT 9:30 A.M. SOUTH OF THE MUSEUM
BRUNCH WILL BE SERVED AFTER THE SERVICE IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER WITH A FREE WILL DONATION TO BENFIT THE MUSEUM.

COME JOIN US IN SUMMERFIELD, KS. FOR A WEEKEND OF FUN AT THE TRANSUE BROS. BLACKSMITH MUSEUM THERE WILL BE BLACKSMITHING, BROOM MAKING, MARBLE BLOWING, DUTCH OVEN COOKING, SKULL PAINTING, ROPE MAKING, WHEELWRIGHT, OLD TIME PICTURES, MOUNTAIN MEN, OLD TIME TAILOR, OLD FASHION SOCK MAKING, AND A LOOM, BUTTER MAKING, LEATHER CRAFTMAN, HIT AND MISS ENGINES, BUGGY RIDES AND THE WINDY RIVER DULCIMER SOCIETY AND THE HOMSTEAD DULCIMER CLUB WILL BE PLAYING. BRING A LAWN CHAIR AND WATCH THE GUNS FIGHTS, THERE WILL BE SKITS BOTH DAYS AND FOR THE SUNDAY MORNING CHURCH SERVICE.
THE SHERIFF, DEPUTY, AND THE JUDGE. HAVE YOUR FRIENDS OR FAMILY ARRESTED AND PUT IN THE 1889 JAIL AND MAKE THEM, BAIL THEMSELVES OUT. RIDE THE OVERLAND STAGE COACH.
SATURDAYS, LUNCH & SUPPER WILL BE SERVED IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER. ALL PROCEEDS TO BENFIT THE MUSEUM.
THERE IS A CRAFT /FLEA MARKET BOTH DAYS IN THE CITY AUDITORIUM
AND ON THE EAST SIDE OF MAIN STREET.

They might, I always buy local when I can, check things out on your next trip to Wal-Mart, I wouldn't know, I seldom go there and only if I have to.

What is amusing is the amount of folks who whine about how so few people understand how things were back then, but yet you get an event like this where even though the towns folks have a lot of not so historical things going on, you have the perfect audience to put on good "how they did things" historic demos.   

Do the whiners ever offer to show up and help?  No for the most part they seem to not want to put their efforts where their mouths are.  But I figured it out a long time ago, they'd rather go off and whine and play with themselves.  I guess that's why I don't pay much attention to the whiners anymore, next thing you know anyway they'll pull a bologna samwhich on Wonder bread out of a plastic bag and eat it.  LOL
