I see that they are wearing cartridge belts with pockets, instead of loops. Shouldn't those be associated with the '03 Springfield, instead of Krags? Also, there seems to be some inconsistency in the pocket placement on the uniform jackets, most are about even with the 2nd button, but on the trooper with the mustache, standing, his are down close to the third button.

These are post 1903 troops, most likely National Guard, with Krags, but with the 1903 rifle belt, with pouchs for the 1903 5 round clips.  These were often issued to Krag carrying troops in later years, with rounds carried loose in the pouchs.

THis was more common than you might think.  When TR demanded the 03 be redesigned with a proper bayonet, and then rechambered for the 06 round, 03s did not begin to get into the field until well into 1907.  But the accoutrements designed for it were in production, and were issued, with Krag armed men adapting to them as needed.  So to did the NG recieve belts and other gear long before new rifles were issued.

The photographers stamp on this picture is So.Manchester,Ct.I'm guessing but,this may be a NG rifle team.The rifles all have front sight covers on them,a couple of the rifles that you can see look to have the M1902 rear sight,and the mixture of equipment and the uniforms.

The guys in the back row are wearing the p1898 blouses while the two seated fellows seem to be wearing p1906 blouses. The two seated guys are both wearing p1904 marching shoes and p1911 leather leggings. The guys in the back row have canvas leggings. This seems to suggest a date after 1911.
