I will soon start getting into reloading .45 colt. A buddy gave me a box of Speer .452 dia. lead bullets .230 gr.,part no. 4691.
They appear to be soft lead. Will these work well in my Ruger NV six shooter and Uberti 1873 rifle or will they leave excessive
lead in the barrels?

Sagebrush Burns

Keep your muzzle velocity under 1000 fps and soft lead bullets will be no problem.  Above 1100 fps they can be troublesome.  The faster (read higher pressure) the load, the harder a lead bullet needs to be.
