I know nothing about sewing machines other than what you guys talk about..I wish i did,my cousin owns an upholstry shop too,and i should know more.

Time spent in research. Finding helpful and informative sites such as this. Putting it all together so one can compare apples to apples. Don't go super cheap.:)

By all accounts a good machine, and the dealer is a real sewing machine guy.  I went with Cobra, because they seem a little better represented in the holster end of things, and they have a good rep for service (not thrilled so far).  They really go after your business and they really quoted hard on the shipping.

But the cowboy dealer has a Singer 93-3, which is just kinda cool.  That is the machine they made to retread tires.  Probably lacks some finesse, but I would love to see what it could do on leather.
