Ain't nothin' wrong with Miroku.  I've got some Browning 92s made by them and the workmanship, metal, fit and finish are tops.  I expect no less from Winchester.  Miroku has made guns for Winchester before and they are holding up very well.

I spoke to the Winchester engineer (Glenn) who is responsible for their lever guns when at the NRA convention in Houston.  He said the 44-40 will be out in October.  I handled them and they are darn slick right from the box.  They will also make a limited number with color case hardened receiver, lever and buttplate with fancy wood.  They had one at the show and was gorgeous.

I had a 357 Miroku and it wouldn't feed worth a spit. Lovely rifle though.  I currently have a 45/70 BPCR Hi Wall which has only fired twenty rounds running in the barrel. It is a magnificent rifle. They sure do put them together well.

Seriously? The last report I heard was no other cals. than .357/.38.

All I can say is - who did you hear it from?  I spoke directly to the Winchester engineering manager responsible for the '73 and their other lever guns.  I don't think it gets much more "from the horses mouth" than that.

If they have expanded that GOOD ON THEM !
