Gentlemen, has anyone took a chance on a pair of these surplus boots from the other side of the big pond?  I was thinking about getting a pair as a second to keep as backup.

They look like the ones that our cav. group bought for loaners in the 90's.  They are workable but kind of clunky and the leather used on ours was more like a paper/vinyl.  Up side they are waterproof, downside ours were like wearing rubber boots.

Back in the day you could buy East German army surplus boot that looked a lot like these for about $12 a pair. The great part about them was that they lasted for just about ever and they were cheap and made great work boots.
