As with all manufacturers they have different models of both home machines and industrial strength machines.  My Pfaff 1245 is a heavy duty machine with a servo motor and with the oversized needle system (190 system) it will take up to a size 207 thread.  I have made chaps with this machine and it is also good for doing upholstery and leather car interiors

The saddle maker I worked for years ago had a Pfaff machine. I don't remember the model but it would go through close to an inch of leather. We used it to punch holes on surcingles which we'd then hand stitch. It was a great machine.

Considering that a new Pfaff1245 goes around $3,500.00 to $4,000.00   $1,200 is not too bad...however would depend upon the condition of course

How's the little sausage (Wiener dog) doing?  Those Pfaff and also Durkoff Adler machnesare the Cadillac's of the sewing machine world.  Even the parts cost is comparable to a BMW or Mercedes
