Those comfey, showy, pretty things that help us hold our pistols.  Yup, .... Grips.  Custom grips are a wonderful way to show off and tp personalize our hand guns.  Wonderful things .... Grips.
When creating your wonderful work of art, normally one piece grips are made from three pieces and some really strong adhesive.  Like ... um ... Epoxy.  Yep ... Really strong stuff.
If when your creating your masterpiece, if you so much as suspect you have perhaps, forgotten to coat the trigger guard and grip frame with releasing agent ..... IMMEDIATELY TAKE IT APART :-)
Epoxy can make your swell custo grips a PERMANENT addition t your pistol.  Yes it can
DO NOT ask me how I Know this ;-(
Wood is cheap and plentiful.  Grip frames are not ;-)

DO NOT get distracted in your process.

Well, to clarify:  When presented with a task to ensure continued domestic tranquility..... don't rush your current task.  If you forget you cleaned off the releasing agent (Vasilene) for "fitting" you will get some interesting results :o

Dumb rookie mistake anyway :-\

I once glass bedded a Barrel into a musket stock with the wrong kind of release agent. needless to say the barrel is still permanently  in that stock. It does shoot well tho.

Hi,

Well it is nice to hear that one of the 'go tos' on this site has made 'rookie dumb mistakes' .... in short, was a rookie and is willing to admit to it ... *S*

TTFN,

My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...
