The Old West is Still Alive in Kaufman County

The Assistant DA was gunned down walking to the court house in Kaufman County today.

No two men wearing body armor and masks walked up and shot him down.  Okla Tom lives in Kaufman, he may have more info than I am getting off the news.

I talked to a few of my friends in legal circles here in Rockwall.   They are thinking it was a professional hit from drug cartels, mex mafia, or white supremacist group.

Sounds like the Kaufman DA was a good man and well liked in the area. 

Rangers are taking the lead in the investigation.

The ADA was ambushed in the parking lot to the Courthouse Annex.  He was shot multiple times by two men dressed all in black with masks.  As he was getting out of his car, an older silver Taurus screeched in behind.  One man got out, the other shot from the car.  He was shot in the head and torso.  One of the shooters, presumably the one that got out of the car, was wearing a tactical vest, not necessarily body armor.  They then fled the scene.  It has all the earmarks of a professional assassination.  Reports are that one of the things he was involved in was an investigation of the Aryan Brotherhood.

The sky was full of search helicopters, and the ubiquitous News choppers most of the day.  Sadly, the courthouse area has been thronged with lookie-loos wanting their dose of morbid fascination to be satisfied.

Sorry to hear about this, sounds like he was a good man. Things are are going to hell in a hurry.
