I e-mailed Armi sports about the strength of the armi spencers. I was told that they are good for all Saami? spect. cartidges,

Sgt. John McAfferty

SAAMI is an acronym (and I'm too old to remeber what it stands for) that lays out specifications for ammunition such as velocity, foot pounds of pressure, etc.  Don't worry, cowboy ammo, even in .56-50, is well within the specs.  Most modern ammo made in both the U.S. and Europe are made to SAAMI specifications.

I believe SAAMI is Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute. Sets voluntary standards for the above. However if you go with the smokeless you won't qualify for the SSUBPWOSCI --  Spencer Shooters that Use Black Powder and Wear Old Style Clothes Institute. ;D

So can anyone tell us the SAAMI spec for the 56-50?
