I use a muzzle protector on every one that gets cleaned from the muzzle. WM
WARTHOG, Dirty Rat #600, BOLD #1056, CGCS,GCSAA, NMLRA, NRA, AF&AM, CBBRC.  If all that cowboy has ever seen is a stockdam, he ain't gonna believe ya when ya tell him about whales.

I do not know as I do not own an original '73. I do own several lever guns and front stuffers and use a muzzle protecter on all of them. w44wcf may know and he may chime in here sometime if not shoot him a pm. WM
