Feral hog problem - UPDATE: GOT THEM !

WE set up weeks ago with two AR with night vision.

The first night we could clearly see a neighbors beer & 4track party in full swing.
If the pigs were out    but we'd have no shot !  safety wise

The fellow that owns the guns had to work the next night ( pigs were out ) he returned the next night and the pigs NO SHOWED it's like they KNEW !  


The trap worked we had them all DANG it... but 3 managed to squeeze out moments after I took the photo... DAM !

The one we got was the biggest but still they are rather young pigs .... She as it turned out will be tasty !

We moved a good distance & reset the trap and adjusted the Trap door so there is no minute escape clause.

We'll see ....

Good luck.  I fear this will be more common.  I lived in an area with an Oscar Meyer plant, killed 10000 a day.  Everyone in the area raised pigs, even if all you had was 1 acre.   Everyone also informed you to keep an eye on them as we did not want them roaming the wilds and ruining the area for wildlife.  In the absence of most predators that could take a full grown feral hog, they will get thick quick.   I have some sausage recipes over in the Cosie's page, give them a try.  Real tasty.

Well, the last 3 were boars so I traded them off, they were castrated and will be raised about 6 months to year
then BBQ....

No new signs so I guess we got all our terrors .... for now !
