Mauser muzzle diameter

Gentlemen,
        Could someone with a Mauser 98K and a Swedish Mauser measure the barrel diameter right in front of the front sight base?  I'm looking to use one for another purpose, but I'd like to have an idea if it's even close to the right size first.  (I know this isn't really GAF related but I don't know a better group to ask.)

Not sure  how helpful I can be-I have a GEW98, not a 98K. It's diameter is .610. My Swede has a threaded muzzle(Must be an evil assault bolt action rifle, with that threaded muzzle) It's turned down for the threads immediatly in front of the sight. Diameter UNDER the sight base is .685, but I beleve the ones that aren't threaded still have a reduced diameter section where the threads are on mine.
