Some time ago I posted an idea of cleaning the black powder fouling out of brass cases with denture cleanser containing Sodium Perborate (NaBO 3)  something that I saw on the capandball you tube channel. The product he used really did a good job of cleaning the inside of the cases.

I tried it using a double recommended amount of a generic denture cleanser that contains sodium perborate and found it did not work any better that using warm water and dish detergent.

The cases treated with the sodium perborate solution compared to cases washed with Dawn dish soap and warm water were not as clean inside but  after sitting for 3 weeks had about the same slight amount of green fuzz inside. It would appear that the sodium perborate did neutralize the corroding effect of the fouling, even if they were not as clean.

My conclusion that for me, at least, it was not worth the effort.
