I always loved Dobie from Spin and Marty to THE THREE GODFATHERS~Going to see his dads ranch and talking with him was a day i will never forget,very cordial,took us on a little tour and told stories of the place.I met his sister also,she was sort of a rebel when she was young and followed John Wayne everywhere he went.I took a picture of his wife with the gun and rig they gave him,Mr. Carey liked the pic and wanted to know if i could send him a copy and i did through a mutual aquaintence,Kansas Jack who was the docent at the William S. Hart museum and ranch.

The folks that own Farmer John Products own the Carey Ranch now,i met the president and he offered me a job there,but i live 3 hours away.So support Farmer Johns and that helps support the museum.My wife and i donate to different cuases every year,2013 we will do the Carey Ranch for sure..I sure enjoyed the visit there.It's just like a comfy adobe ranch should be,in fact i think they did alot of filming in the area years ago before subdivisions came in.Harey Carey Jr~The Real Deal~

I watched him in all those movies growing up. Harry Carey Jr. was the same age as my dad. I miss these movies.

There's a story of how John Ford couldn't get a good shot of Carey in 3 Godfathers when he dies in that scene,he finally tells Carey to lay there for another shot the walks off and takes half an hour to get ready,by the time he gets ready Carey has been lying in the very hot sun and about to croak,then he says the prayer,Ford hollers print it,then turns to Carey and says ,now why didn't ya do that the first time.
