Their website is awful for descriptions and pictures.  I can't tell if these are flat point and also how large are the lube grooves?  I do like that they offer it in a 6 cavity ( unless you pards think that is overkill)

I have  12 Second Models that me & my sons shoot in live fire competitions in the N-SSA. I use Lodgewood's 6 cavity mold in .515 with 21 grains of 3f Goex in reduced capacity cases also from Lodgewood. You'd be advised to get one of the two piece loading tools as well. I size my rounds to .516 as they drop out of the mold. .5165-.517 and dip them in  50/50 mix of beeswax/Crisco. I get under. 2" groups at 50 yards from a machine rest mind you.

You could say Maynards are an ADDICTION!!!

Sorry, I wish I had a Maynard.  I was asking if anyone shot those in a spencer.  Are they round nose flat point?

Eggman

That is the question, be the nose flat? IB, you should be aware that all of the top echelon shooters in the N-SSA shoot Maynard carbines. There are an elite few that shoot BOTH Spencers and Maynards. As to bullets I shoot a flat nose .515 in my Spencer, and a pointy nose .515 in my Maynard. Both shoot groups as PJ described.
By the way, PJ is the second smartest guy in the N-SSA, so pay attention guys!

Thanks for the responses.  I called lodgewood and was told that they are flat point.  I will slug the rifle once more (previous slugs were .515).  I am thinking that the Maynard .518 six cavity should work. :)

The attached picture is of the inside of the .518 mould. With soft lead my mould casts .520 . This might be oversize if you are going to size to .516.

When you slug the bore, start the bullet at the chamber end of the barrel, run it up just an inch or so and then tap it back out the breech. It's a pain. Spencer rifling grooves usually taper towards the muzzle .002 to .003. Yes, it's a pain to do it this way!
