Hello SSS,

Lonesome Henry, one of our SSS members, sent me the following photo via Email of a Hunting Party with Spencer.  Looks to be a Spencer Carbine ???

"Hi Two Flints,

They sure are duded up to go Hunting :o.  Whats up with the Rolling Block with the ram-rod under the barrel. Is that the  original Pedersoli .50cal inline Muzzleloader. Nice Spencer carbine though.  :)
Thanks Two Flints for posting the picture, keep them coming.

Notice the fellow on the floor at right appears to be wearing his belt upside-down (wreath goes the wrong way).

Wrong ammo on the belt also.  Kinda looks like a staged setup that the photographer handed them.

Studio props, the cartridges for the Spence look a bit over long ?

I'm still trying to find info on my Rolling Block  ???.  This picture shows one similar to mine with the ramrod under the barrel.  Mine is a .58 with a 29 inch barrel.  Pics here if anyone has info I would love to hear about it.  It has since 'cleaned up' really nice with some '000' wire wool and a drop of oil.  The bore is clean as well .  No markings except 'US' stamped on the buttplate. https://picasaweb.google.com/subsonic40grain/November92012?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCLGbqoyb1fmTeA&feat=directlink

Thanks to a fellow SSC forum member I may get to fire it and post some pics.  Whooo hoo!
