I have seen academic studies from Canada and Australia that discussed the lack of effectiveness of gun registration laws.  At the time of those studies the authours mentioned that they had no data to evaluate concealed carry laws in minimizing gun violence.  This article is VERY interesting as it fills that void.

We all know that making law abiding citizens register everything, making more restrictions, limiting magazines, number of guns, outlawing bullets etc, etc... does nothing whatsoever to reduce crime.

The scumbags of society will just continue to buy cheap, hot guns off the street.... Why...because they do not follow or adhere to the laws of our nation. When you restrict and make more guns for law abiding citizens, you are only hurting the good people, who already follow the rules of society. (Naturally..common sense applies here. We don't need to get into all that, regarding people who have certain physiological problems, etc. That's a whole other discussion)

I've been a municipal police officer for 15 years now and I'm 100% behind every law abiding citizen to own and buy as many guns and as much ammo as you possibly want because that is guaranteed under the 2nd Amendment AND it keeps people from being victims. Your responsibility is to protect you and your family. In many occasions, the police arrive after it's too late...after you or someone you love, has been victimized by a forcible felony...just a statistical fact.

In 15 years I have not seen 1 instance where someone committed a violent crime with their legally bought gun. I have taken guns off many scumbags (who in a million years would never be able to own or possess a handgun) Always... the guns involved one or more of the following...stolen guns, serial numbers filed off, the girlfriend bought it as a "straw sale" for their drug dealing boyfriend.. etc. The list goes on.

I don't ever discuss what I do for a living on this forum (I come here to relax)...but I'm not talking out of my butt.  I'll spare you guys all my long winded yarns...but have dealt with lots of garbage and none of the "particles of defecation" followed any established laws, nor would they suddenly have change of heart with tougher gun laws for the REST OF US.

Take away the guns form the citizens and they will be victims...PERIOD.

It may sound like a conspiracy theory to some, but that is where 'gun control' leads, if history teaches us anything.

Hitler triumphantly announced he had achieved 'gun control' in 1938. That must have come as cold comfort to those slated for the gas chambers and crematoria.
Think it might have turned out differently if every Jew had a Mauser '98 and just 20 rounds of ammunition? It took the Wehrmacht three weeks to crush the Warsaw Uprising, using scum released from military prisons employing poison gas and flame throwers to eradicate the last defenders.
